Senior Accountant - Manufacturing

Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions including accounts receivable, revenue recognition, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, enjoys working in a fast-paced setting, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats within a smaller organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full accounts receivable process, including billing, cash application, collections support, and customer account reconciliations.
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and company policies, ensuring accurate and timely recording of sales transactions.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Aid in monthly financial statement preparation and internal management reporting.
- Partner with operations and sales teams to ensure accurate invoicing, revenue reporting, and inventory-related accounting.
- Support inventory and cost accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations and manufacturing-related transactions.
- Aid in annual audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Mechanical engineering or manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and month-end close.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-company environment where flexibility and initiative are valued.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory or cost accounting.
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus.
- Experience improving accounting processes or implementing system enhancements.

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
