Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions including accounts receivable, revenue recognition, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, enjoys working in a fast-paced setting, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats within a smaller organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full accounts receivable process, including billing, cash application, collections support, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and company policies, ensuring accurate and timely recording of sales transactions.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Aid in monthly financial statement preparation and internal management reporting.
  • Partner with operations and sales teams to ensure accurate invoicing, revenue reporting, and inventory-related accounting.
  • Support inventory and cost accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations and manufacturing-related transactions.
  • Aid in annual audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Mechanical engineering or manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and month-end close.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-company environment where flexibility and initiative are valued.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory or cost accounting.
  • CPA or CPA-track is a plus.
  • Experience improving accounting processes or implementing system enhancements.
