Senior Accountant, Kindle Content Accounting

This role is part of the Kindle Content Accounting team, supporting Amazon’s Digital Content businesses, including eBooks and Kindle Unlimited. The position involves supporting new product launches, expansion efforts, and various aspects of the monthly accounting and reporting process.

Responsibilities

  • Support various aspects of accounting and reporting processes.
  • Own end-to-end processes to support finance and business partners.
  • Apply accounting and financial principles to real-world scenarios.
  • Assess and design internal controls for effectiveness, particularly for emerging and growing business activities.
  • Exercise judgment to keep projects moving and ensure timely decision-making for monthly book closures.
  • Escalate risks and issues to leadership as needed.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change.
  • Lead the delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
  • Analyze complex processes and systems data.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience (preferred).
  • CPA certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency (preferred).
  • Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification (preferred).
  • Experience in accounting management at a Big Four firm with Fortune 500 clients (preferred).
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions (preferred).

Pay

  • USA, CA, Culver City: $72,600.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, OR, Portland: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $60,200.00 - $105,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
