Senior Accountant - Insurance

About the role

The role focuses on US GAAP reporting, reinsurance accounting, financial close, and analysis of insurance portfolios. It offers exposure to complex accounting transactions and cross-functional partnership across finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting and reporting activities for assigned insurance portfolios
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare US GAAP financial reporting and analysis
• Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights
• Support accounting for reinsurance transactions and business initiatives
• Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
• Maintain financial controls and accurate accounting records
• Support technical accounting projects and ad hoc analysis
• Afford to assist with mentoring junior team members

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting experience within insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or public accounting
• Strong US GAAP and financial reporting experience
• Experience with month-end close, financial statements, and accounting analysis
• Exposure to insurance/reinsurance accounting preferred
• CPA or CPA track preferred
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience
• Ability to analyze financial data and communicate findings effectively
