About the role
A growing global organization in the Miami area is hiring an experienced Senior Accountant for a high-impact role within its accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned areas of the month-end close process
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, GL roll-forwards, and variance analysis
- Support inventory accounting, inventory valuation, reserves, reconciliations, and controls
- Review gross profit, margin trends, inventory activity, pricing, and operational variances
- Partner with internal accounting, finance, and operations teams
- Support U.S. GAAP, internal controls, audit requests, and accounting documentation
- Identify ways to improve reporting, workflows, ERP usage, and manual processes
- Help coach, mentor, or support junior accounting team members as needed
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
- Background as a Senior Accountant, Cost Accountant, Inventory Accountant, Senior Accounting Analyst, or Accounting Supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- Direct inventory accounting experience required
- Strong month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting experience
- Experience with inventory valuation, reserves, reconciliations, controls, or cost accounting
- Gross profit analysis, margin analysis, or variance analysis experience preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles
- ERP experience required; SAP strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis
- Process improvement, automation, or systems enhancement experience preferred
- Experience in a large, complex, high-volume, or multinational environment preferred
- Prior mentoring, coaching, review, or team support experience preferred
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting preferred
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Experience with other ERP systems preferred
- Experience with financial modeling preferred
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting preferred
