About the role
Join our team and gain exposure to nearly every facet of accounting and financial reporting within a leading S&P 500 REIT. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a well-rounded foundation across multiple accounting disciplines while partnering with experienced professionals throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Property Accounting: Perform month-end close activities, including but not limited to reviewing invoice coding, preparing journal entries, preparing property balance sheet and income statement, analyzing fluctuation analysis, and preparing CAM reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
- Real Estate Development: Assist with project set-up process and month-end close activities, including but not limited to, preparing journal entries for construction accrual and WIP transfer, and preparing monthly construction reporting schedules.
- Transactions: Perform purchase accounting analysis, sale analysis, and settlement statement review.
- SEC Financial Reporting: Perform ad-hoc analysis and reconciliations to support external reporting requirements such as 10Q/10K and Supplemental SEC filings. Assist with mining data to present useful information for quarterly earnings release.
- Tax: Assist with preparation of tax compliance reporting, including preparation of support for tax returns and REIT compliance analysis.
- Other functional accounting groups: Assist various functional accounting teams such as Lease Accounting, Fixed Assets, Amenities, Treasury, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable with various ad-hoc projects and analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field required, Master’s degree in related field is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience required and strong understanding of accounting principles.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- Experience within commercial real estate or a public company environment is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Yardi accounting Software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Pay
The expected base hourly wage range for this position is $ 52.88 to $64.90 USD hourly, plus an annual discretionary bonus.
