Corpay is seeking a Senior Accountant Contractor within our Accounting and Finance division, specifically in our Global Shared Services line of business.

About the role

As a key member of the finance and accounting team, you will lead responsibilities for the company's Global Shared Services Accounting Department, manage close processes with global subsidiaries, and work on key initiatives related to critical accounting processes. You will report directly to the VP Assistant Corporate Controller and collaborate regularly with the team and other departments.

The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, strong in accounting concepts, and a team player with a willingness to learn.

How We Work

This role operates in an office environment at our Brentwood office. Corpay will provide:

  • Assigned workspace in the Brentwood office
  • Company-issued equipment + remote access

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate month-end close activities, including timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, inter-company elimination and balancing processes, expense accruals, prepaid amortization, lease accounting, fixed assets, and account reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and controls
  • Review monthly and quarterly reporting analysis and other management reporting as assigned
  • Lead team members, projects, and certain functions managed by the Controller’s Department
  • Provide thought leadership, continually evaluating and optimizing month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy
  • Develop, enhance, implement, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures to improve operations and reduce business risks
  • Support internal and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global departments to resolve month-end close activities and work on strategic initiatives
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2+ years of experience
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
  • Ability to coordinate and work with business leaders in multiple locations
  • Ability to meet deadlines accurately in a high-paced environment
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ambitious and flexible with a desire to learn and grow professionally
  • Excellent Excel skills and willingness to learn new technical applications
