About the role
Full-time, on-site role based in Greenville, SC. This position manages and reviews bookkeeping activities, prepares and reviews individual and business tax returns, and supports tax planning and advisory engagements. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax laws and accounting standards, communicating with clients, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with firm leadership on complex engagements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review bookkeeping activities
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Support tax planning and advisory engagements
- Reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and accounting standards
- Communicate with clients to answer accounting and tax questions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements
- Mentor junior team members
- Collaborate with firm leadership on complex engagements
- Contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of client service
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in general accounting, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks Online or similar platforms, and strong Excel skills
- Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and maintain professional relationships
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a public accounting environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or EA license or progress toward certification strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a CPA firm or public accounting setting, particularly working with small businesses and individual clients, is highly beneficial
- Ability to work on-site in Greenville, SC, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented culture
