Vaco has partnered with a publicly traded financial services company to hire a Senior Accountant in Phoenix, Arizona.
Pay
$95,000–$120,000 base salary + bonus (depending on experience)
Schedule
Phoenix, AZ (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)

Responsibilities
- Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including financial analysis, account reconciliations, and preparation of key accounting deliverables
- Prepare reporting packages and analyses while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal reporting needs
- Enhance and maintain accounting processes, internal controls, and reconciliation procedures to drive accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
- Partner with cross-functional teams on projects, system enhancements, and business initiatives, serving as a key accounting resource throughout implementation and execution
- Research and document complex accounting matters, collaborate with auditors and business leaders, and support the development of staff through mentoring and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (Required)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred, ideally within financial services, a publicly traded company, or a complex corporate accounting environment
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred, with CPA certification or active pursuit of a CPA
- Strong technical accounting and compliance background, including GAAP knowledge, financial reporting, internal controls, and SOX experience
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Advanced Excel skills to solve complex business challenges
