Senior Accountant
The Gatesworth Communities, a locally owned senior living organization in St. Louis, is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our corporate finance team. This full-cycle accounting role supports all four of our communities and plays a key part in the accuracy of our consolidated financial reporting.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Location
This is an on-site position based at The Gatesworth, 1 McKnight Place, St. Louis, MO 63124. Candidates must currently reside in the St. Louis area at the time of application; relocation assistance is not offered.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close process across all four communities — journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual/prepaid schedules
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual variance analysis by community
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations for each community, including security deposits and bank accounts
- Oversee resident billing and revenue recognition tied to move-ins, move-outs, and ancillary charges across sites
- Review AR aging and coordinate collections with billing teams
- Review and approve AP vendor invoices
- Support annual audits, tax filings, and cost reports alongside the Corporate Controller
- Assist with annual budget preparation and financial reporting for all communities
- Maintain internal controls over cash, billing, and disbursements at the community level
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and maintain fixed asset records
- Prepare Missouri sales and use tax returns
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience supporting multiple entities or locations a plus
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- CPA preferred
- Public accounting or senior healthcare industry experience a plus
