Senior Accountant

About the role

Syntax Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in lease accounting to join our finance team in Timonium, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting related to lease transactions, supporting compliance with ASC 842, and collaborating with various departments to optimize lease accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee lease accounting functions, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual lease-related financial reports and disclosures.
• Reconcile lease accounts and maintain lease accounting schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze lease data.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to lease activities.
• Evaluate and implement lease accounting software solutions.
• Support internal and external audits related to lease accounting.
• Stay updated on industry trends and accounting standards pertaining to lease accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 842 and lease accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
