Responsibilities
- Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and fully supported.
- Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
- Manage general ledger activity by recording journal entries and verifying proper classification of transactions.
- Support the month-end close by completing assigned accounting tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Analyze account activity and financial data to identify variances, unusual trends, and items requiring follow-up.
- Maintain organized documentation for reconciliations, entries, and supporting schedules to strengthen audit readiness and internal controls.
- Work within accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to process transactions and monitor financial information.
- Use Microsoft Excel to build schedules, perform data analysis, and streamline recurring accounting processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role, preferably within a distribution, wholesale, or similar operational environment.
- Strong background in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation activities.
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large data sets and financial schedules.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP system, such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical problem-solving ability.
