Senior Accountant
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards, improving financial procedures, and assisting management with financial analysis and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete general ledger functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and related reporting
- Prepares prepaid and accrual accounts
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances
- Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement accounting best practices
Required Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (Contador Público Certificado) or equivalent preferred
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (or applicable accounting framework)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Experience with financial close processes and reconciliations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience in public accounting or a similar industry
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
