About the role
Our client, a growing and well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting month-end close activities, financial reporting, cost accounting functions, and overall accounting operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
- Participating in regular tax audits and payroll.
- Preparing budgeting reports and forecasting revenue.
- Enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Managing and monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
- Regularly producing and presenting clear, concise, and timely ad hoc reports, as needed.
- Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Processing AP checks and ACH payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with relevant accounting software (ERP).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines.

Pay
