Senior Accountant

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our client's team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and innovative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and coordinating the financial activities of the company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist CFO with conducting audits
- Conduct regular ledger maintenance
- Adhere to FASB standards to maintain financial security of the organization
- Analyze financial reports and provide recommendations for improvement
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all tasks
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to meet internal and external financial reporting requirements
- Collaborate with team members to support overall department goals and objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and financial analysis
- Experience with computerized ledger systems
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial procedures, including FASB regulations and GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in the scientific industry is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO, the responsibility for accounting

Pay
$100,000 - $110,000 per year
