Senior Accountant

About the role

The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is actively recruiting a Senior Accountant to join our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Gering, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial information and statements to internal and external users
• Afford to assist in overseeing the efficient operations of department systems and programs
• Provide guidance and leadership in compliance with the organization’s accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP
• Maintain and balance assets and liability accounts
• Prepare monthly and quarterly grant reports
• Review daily transactions including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and oversee general ledger
• Prepare and process payroll bimonthly
• Supervise two Accounting Specialists

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Business and Accounting required; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
• Minimum of two years of accounting experience required
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred
• Advanced Excel experience required
• Non-profit accounting experience preferred

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
