Responsibilities
- Participate in month-end close activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with internal deadlines
- Prepare and review complex monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and assist with preparation of financial statements
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and post eliminating journal entries
- Manage accruals, fixed assets, and revenue recognition processes in compliance with company policies and GAAP
- Identify and implement efficiencies in the month-end close cycle to reduce process time
- Propose and execute enhancements to accounting processes and tools
- Provide mentoring and support to junior accounting staff to support professional growth and development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and streamline processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within large organizations ($2B+ revenue)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas) and intermediate skills in Word and Outlook
- Proven ability to work with and manipulate large datasets in Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce is a plus
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
