Senior Accountant
About the role
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the accounting and finance team, ensuring that the company's books and records comply with U.S. GAAP and Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and designing controls for the SOX program. Additional duties involve ad hoc accounting tasks, internal controls, regulatory reporting, technical research, accrual analysis, and monthly account reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain records of organization’s financial activity in accordance with US GAAP, organizational standards, and Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including audit workpapers for asset-back securitization transactions, equipment funding transactions, cash management activities
- Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and government regulatory requirements
- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, including operating lease assets, goodwill and intangibles assets, loan and finance lease net investment
- Oversee review of the weekly (and eventually daily) reconciliation of loan & finance lease net investment as well as operating lease net investment
- Research technical accounting issues
- Oversee monthly accounting for intercompany transactions, including intercompany debt and interest expense calculations
- Manage monthly customer delinquency, charge-offs, recoveries, residual realization, and borrowing base reporting
- Prepare account reconciliations and upload recons to FloQast timely
- Prepare schedules for regulatory compliance and SEC reporting
- Assist with audit preparation and support
- Provide direct or indirect supervision of less experienced accountants
- Update process and procedure documentations to keep them current
- Collaborate with the corporate accounting team to resolve outstanding issues as they arise
- Absorb ad hoc schedule preparations as needed
- Complete all regulatory training as required in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years’ accounting work experience
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
- Ability to multitask and meet communication deadlines
- Ability to effectively supervise less experienced staff
- Adherence to policies and procedures
Skills
- Functional knowledge of operational systems
- Experience with regulatory compliance and SEC reporting
- Experience with auditing and financial reporting
- Ability to prepare and review financial statements
- Technical research and problem-solving skills

Pay
Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education. The target range is $75,000.00/Yr. - $95,000.00/Yr.
