Responsibilities
- Build standardization and consistency around the monthly financial close and financial reporting process.
- Ensure the accuracy of the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
- Oversee the transactional accounting team ensuring that transactions are hitting the GL correctly for AP, AR and Payroll.
- Stay up to date with recent changes to GAAP impacting revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and exposure to joint ventures.
- Train and develop transactional accounting team.
- Work closely with CFO and Corporate Senior Leadership during monthly and quarterly financial review meetings analyzing financial results, cost drivers, monitoring inventory levels, and budget-to-actual variances.
- Provide senior management team with flash reports, KPIs, and other financial metrics as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance plus CPA (preferred).
- MBA (plus) preferred.
- 2-4 years public accounting or corporate accounting experience.
- 1-2 years of experience performing the accounting close and financial reporting process for a for-profit organization.
- Willing to stretch beyond a narrow job description and take ownership of problems through completion.
- Interested in gaining meaningful experience and making an impact rather than maintaining a comfortable routine.
- Receptive to coaching, constructive feedback, and increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience streamlining the financial close processes, ensuring proper controls, and accurate reporting and compliance.
