Senior Accountant, Amazon Leo Accounting

Amazon has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance and Business Integration team. This candidate will work closely with accounting operations, business, finance, and technology teams to implement systems that automate financial flows for our Stores business. They will support and directly influence the launches of some of Amazon’s newest global business initiatives.

About the role

In this role, the candidate will represent accounting while collaborating with business, finance, and technology to deliver world-class financial solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think critically, analyze data, problem-solve, scope business requirements, and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Define strategies: Partner with accounting and technology teams to develop and own the implementation strategies for large, multi-year accounting automation programs.
• Own and manage lifecycle activities from beginning to end (planning, requirements gathering, technology team partnerships, UAT planning and performance, project closing, and stakeholder engagement) for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Automate: Lead the coordination of designing processes and tools to make financial statement processes easier and more accurate.
• Support expansion: Ensure implementation of controlled processes to keep Amazon’s financial statements materially correct, supporting the expansion of Amazon business.
• Consult: Operate as a valued consultant to partner with many different stakeholder teams across Amazon.
• Make decisions: Drive the direction of a project to completion as an empowered, impactful decision-maker.
• Collaborate: Work with Amazonians of diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

Successful candidates will have deep experience in the following three disciplines: Accounting, Program Management, and Finance Systems. Candidate experience should cover financial processes, project management, accounting requirements documentation, process design, and user acceptance testing responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in leading teams to accomplish unusually complex challenges is expected.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification.
• Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

• USA, OR, Portland: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
• USA, TN, Nashville: $60,200.00 - $105,400.00 USD annually
• USA, TX, Austin: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
• USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
• USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
