Amazon’s Finance and Business Integration team is seeking an Accounting Manager to drive accounting automation for our Stores business. You will collaborate with accounting operations, business, finance, and technology teams to implement scalable, secure financial systems that support global business initiatives.

About the role

In this role, you will represent accounting while working with diverse stakeholders to deliver world-class financial solutions. You will operate in a fast-paced, global environment, leveraging strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to scope requirements and prioritize effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with accounting and technology teams to develop and implement multi-year accounting automation strategies.
  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of projects—planning, requirements gathering, technology partnerships, UAT planning, project closure, and stakeholder engagement—across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Lead automation projects to design processes and tools that improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial statement processes.
  • Support Amazon’s business expansion by ensuring controlled processes to maintain materially correct financial statements.
  • Act as a consultant to various stakeholder teams across Amazon.
  • Make empowered, impactful decisions to drive projects to completion.
  • Collaborate with Amazonians from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Deep experience in accounting, program management, and finance systems.
  • Experience with financial processes, project management, accounting requirements documentation, process design, and user acceptance testing.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex challenges.

Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
  • Experience in accounting management at a Big Four firm with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Pay

  • USA, CA, Culver City: $72,600.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, OR, Portland: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $60,200.00 - $105,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
