About the role
The Senior Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, cold-calling new prospects and demonstrating to potential clients of the merits of television and digital advertising on WFXR/WWCW/WFXRtv.com and Nexstar Digital platforms. We serve Roanoke, Lynchburg, the New River Valley and surrounding counties.
Responsibilities
- Generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, cold-calling new prospects and demonstrating to potential clients of the merits of television and digital advertising on WFXR/WWCW/WFXRtv.com and Nexstar Digital platforms.
- Visits local businesses, finds out what makes them unique, and helps craft creative plans to share that information with our audience to help their businesses grow and thrive.
- Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
- Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
- Possesses the ability to prospect, qualify, close, and grow new business.
- Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
- Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.
- Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
- Continues to learn and implement new strategies and products.
- Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
- Be an advocate for our products and programs.
- Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
- Develops advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
- Works with creative services in the production of client’s creative elements for both broadcast and digital advertising campaigns.
- Responsible for order entry, contracts, follow-up, and collections.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Minimum two years’ experience in media or digital sales.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Knowledge of digital marketing basics (Google/Facebook, etc.) preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and basic office equipment required.
