Provide fast, friendly, and courteous service to every customer in accordance with Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Report to work well-groomed in full uniform and on time with badge on upper left side of uniform.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverage to all guests.
- Be hospitable, friendly, and polite with all guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language.
- Understand and support the philosophy and goals of Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino.
- Perform duties assigned by the manager or shift manager and assist all employees as needed.
- Be familiar with all check and cashing procedures.
- Work attentively in a designated area, exceeding guest expectations.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures pertaining to liquor laws.
- Be knowledgeable of Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino’s history, property map, restroom and telephone locations, store and restaurant hours, and handle guest inquiries efficiently.
- Maintain full knowledge of menu, wine lists, and daily specials.
- Greet all guests within one minute in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Complete designated opening and closing side work daily and check with manager before clocking out.
- Maintain a current understanding of all information security policies, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate professionally at all times.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Review all posted information, including stations, upcoming events, and the 86 board.
- Review reservation book to identify VIPs, special guests, and large parties.
- Maintain a neat and organized work station, keeping wait stations clean, organized, and stocked.
- Pre-bus all tables and take guest checks to the cashier.
- Perform general upkeep of the restaurant (e.g., pick up debris, sweep floors).
- Follow weekly designated side work duties.
- Visit all tables during service to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist guests with coats and chairs upon departure, thank them, and invite them to return.
- Follow all tip-out procedures according to standards.
Requirements
- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition.
- Must remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Six months of previous customer service experience required; high-volume experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and employees.
- Ability to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and use fingers/hands for lifting and grasping.
- Must be able to lift and carry trays up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to talk to and hear customers and co-workers.
- Must be able to assist with special needs of customers.
- Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds constantly.
- Required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
- Subject to environmental conditions, including protection from weather but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Subject to atmospheric conditions and moderately loud noise levels.
- Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
Pay
Starting rate: $10.70 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
