Semi-Truck Driver (Class A)

Our truck drivers perform pick-up and drop-off of boxes for scrap metal collection at customer sites, load, unload, and transport semi-trailer loads to and from customer and job sites within a 150-mile radius of Eugene.

Responsibilities

• Move semi and lowboy trailer loads to and from job sites
• Secure freight as required; may include tying down and securing own load
• Complete timely, legible, and accurate paperwork
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections according to Company policy and report safety issues
• Operate mobile smartphones and vehicle E-logs
• Fill in in other areas as needed
• Cross-train on roll-off box trucks

Requirements

• Knowledge of DOT reports and regulations
• Ability to provide quality customer service
• Ability to drive a manual truck
• Class A driver’s license
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Physically able to climb into trucks and onto trailers/containers
• Physically able to open and close box doors
• Must pass background check and drug testing
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Live within 30 minutes of our Eugene location

Pay

$27–$31 per hour

Schedule

Full-time, permanent. Paid weekly every Friday.

Work Environment

This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to equipment, machinery, and scrap in the yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, a hard hat, and additional personal protective equipment must be worn to mitigate risks. Overnight travel is not required.
