About the role
Unity House seeks a Self-direction Specialist to support individuals in learning and developing daily living skills, taking care of personal needs, and expressing personal choice. The role ensures community integration, health and safety, and a comfortable home environment. Supports and services depend on the individual’s abilities and setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in learning and developing daily living skills and habits.
- Help individuals take care of their own personal needs.
- Advocate for, encourage, guide, and teach individuals to express personal choice.
- Ensure community integration, health and safety, and a comfortable home environment.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Have a minimum of a GED.
- Valid/acceptable driver's license.
Qualifications
- Co-managed by the service recipient and their family along with the employing agency.
- Works in accordance with service plans and individual interests of the people they support.
- Includes community inclusion, completing daily living skills, and working towards the individual gaining independence.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.

Pay
$17.00 - $28.00 per hour.
