The Self-Checkout Coordinator delivers quality customer service while maintaining the area in a clean and safe condition, as well as stocked with the products customers need. One of the last interactions our customers have before leaving the store is with the Self-Checkout Coordinator; therefore, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining company core values is expected. The individual will ensure the customer is satisfied and encouraged to come back to Cardenas Markets.

Responsibilities

• Operate front end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Oversee self-checkout units; demonstrate personal Customer Service excellence.
• Engage with customers at all times; serve multiple customers at once and anticipate issues before they occur.
• Monitor scanning activity to ensure scanning accuracy.
• Invite customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially if lines are forming in other lanes.
• Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers.
• Demonstrate care and compassion for people; show empathy and concern.
• Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relate well to diverse people; is approachable.
• Clearly communicate and enforce standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions, and food safety.
• Engage in safe work practices and encourage others to do the same.
• Responsible for presentation of work area, cleaning & organization — uniform & personal appearance of self.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Customer Service and retail experience desirable.
• Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred.

• Walking: Continuously, throughout shift, while moving about the store and handling merchandise.
• Standing: Continuously, throughout shift.
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.

Pay

The pay scale for this position ranges from $17.90 to $20.45 per hour. Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
