Responsibilities
- Reads pick sheets and travels to proper warehouse locations using a pallet jack.
- Picks proper product type and quantity, labels products, and places on a pallet, then loads the pallet onto trucks according to established standards.
- Handles products and builds pallets according to established food safety procedures, including visual inspections for damages and proper placement to minimize cross-contamination and damage.
- Maintains a clean and safe warehouse environment according to company standards; takes corrective actions for spills or damaged cases and disposes of trash and recycling in proper receptacles.
- Communicates with the management team about any issues such as product out-of-stocks, safety concerns, or food safety issues.
- Operates all company warehouse equipment safely, according to company standards, and reports any equipment issues to a member of the management team.
- Completes all necessary paperwork and uses a wearable computer to track time spent on assignments for productivity reporting.
- Works assigned schedule and exhibits regular and predictable attendance, working overtime as needed to meet workload demands.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent degree; 6 months of previous warehouse experience preferred, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Certifications/Licenses: Forklift and pallet jack license/certification.
- Skills: Knowledge of safe lifting procedures and food safety guidelines; ability to build pallets quickly, accurately, and safely; skill in operating forklifts and/or pallet jacks and maneuvering in tight areas; ability to meet minimum productivity levels established by the company; read, write, and communicate in English; perform basic math functions; solve problems; apply understanding to carry out instructions; wear personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes).
