Work Schedule

Full‑time, 40 scheduled weekly hours, Day shift (UR – Day)

Compensation

Hourly rate range: $19.13 – $25.95 (first and last step rates as set by the collective bargaining agreement)

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering food supplies and equipment for cooks and support food preparation.
• Perform grill and broiler activities independently as needed.
• Tend foods that are cooking, test progress, adjust time/temperature, and add seasonings or ingredients as directed.
• Prepare beverages and special‑diet or short‑order foods on grills or in broilers.
• Peel, wash, trim, and cut vegetables, fruit, meat, cheese, and other foods; measure and mix ingredients according to computer‑generated recipes.
• Prepare servings, assemble patient trays, and load food onto trucks or containers.
• Observe precautions to prevent deterioration of prepared foods, monitor leftovers, and ensure proper storage.
• Remove returned food carts, wrap, store, process, or discard items as directed.
• Clean utensils, equipment, and work areas; maintain sanitation and safety standards.
• Obtain and arrange food, supplies, and utensils; prepare ovens, fryers, and grills; handle food trucks, containers, and trays.

Requirements

• Knowledge of food preparation methods.
• Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions.
• At least 1 year of experience in commercial food service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Physical ability to lift items weighing approximately 40–50 pounds.
