Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance throughout the guestrooms; includes painting, wall papering and patching, carpet/floor cleaning, etc.
- Perform in-house minor plumbing and cleaning of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Checks and makes minor repairs to plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe line, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Perform minor repairs and/or replacements of room furniture, fixtures, and equipment to include televisions, light fixtures, towel bars, etc.
- Perform duties outlined in Preventative Maintenance program and ensures maintenance measures are performed to preserve the property assets.
- Clean and maintain the hotel exterior including lawn care, snow removal, and shovel/salt the sidewalks.
- Protect company assets by properly securing tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Cleaning and minor maintenance of washers, dryers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, etc.
- Report requests for major repairs to the Director of Facilities, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Housekeeping Manager in accordance with waterpark & hotel procedures.
- Respond to guest requests for immediate repairs and questions or complaints.
- Responds in a courteous manner to guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Manual dexterity and mobility required.
- Responsible for all maintenance service requests, inspections and adjustments assigned by the Director of Facilities, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Housekeeping Manager.
- Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Safety Hazards
- A significant portion of the workday is spent lifting, moving, climbing, crawling, and holding.
- Carrying and/or lifting items that weigh approximately 100 lbs. Pushing and/or pulling objects such as televisions, furniture, etc. that weigh approximately 300 lbs. occur at times.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized in order to document or record all tasks completed, order supplies, receive instructions for the day, or to read equipment repair manuals.
- Problem solving and reasoning abilities are utilized occasionally.
- Mental abilities, including basic math, volume, weight, and percentages are utilized a significant portion of the time.
- Must work with chemicals, deliveries, storage and handling, SDS sheets, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and lifting of chemicals and sand.
- May be exposed to wet and dry conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age.
- One (1) to three (3) years of maintenance experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license and Tribal driver’s license.
- Pre-employment background check & drug screen.
Preferred
- EPA, HVAC, and refrigeration certification.
- Journeyman status for carpenter or licensed plumber.
- Native American.
