Segment Leader – North America
Armacell, founded from a 1954 innovation in thermal insulation, is a global leader in flexible, closed-cell elastomeric foam solutions. This role focuses on driving profitable growth for two strategic product segments: polyethylene (PE) and rubber foam-based Backer Rod & Custom Profiles. As a leadership development and succession opportunity, the successful candidate will prepare for advancement into a future Sales Director position.
Preferred location: Remote within the Central or Eastern Time Zones of the United States, with strong preference given to candidates located in key commercial markets across the Eastern Seaboard, Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, and Texas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a segment growth strategy for Backer Rod and Custom Profiles across target markets and channels.
- Expand the distribution footprint by identifying, recruiting, and developing new distribution partners.
- Drive revenue growth through strong commercial execution, market development, and customer acquisition.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, product management, operations, and leadership to align segment priorities with business objectives.
- Identify new end-use applications, market opportunities, and customer needs for PE and rubber foam products.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, contractors, OEMs, fabricators, and other key channel partners.
- Monitor competitive activity, pricing, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategy and improve positioning.
- Support product training, value proposition development, and go-to-market initiatives to accelerate adoption and share growth.
- Develop account and channel plans with measurable goals, forecasts, and growth targets.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline development, segment performance, and strategic opportunities.
- Demonstrate leadership potential by taking on increasing responsibility and preparing for progression into a Sales Director role.
- Assume North America-level responsibility and strategic ownership for the Backer Rod and Custom Profiles segments.
- Own margin and profitability performance to improve segment economics.
- Lead and develop one direct report with accountability for coaching and development, performance management, goal setting, and execution.
- Partner closely with the current Sales Director to gain exposure to broader commercial strategy, organizational leadership, business planning, and talent development activities.
- Lead strategic initiatives that support long-term business growth while preparing to assume increasing levels of commercial leadership responsibility.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business, including sales, product management, operations, and customer strategy, to support future advancement into a Sales Director role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales, business development, product management, or segment leadership within the building products industry.
- Demonstrated success growing revenue, expanding channels, and increasing market share.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capture new business opportunities.
- Experience working with distributors and channel partners in a growth-focused environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate insights into action.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across the organization.
- Approximately 40-50% travel throughout North America to support customer engagement, channel development, and business growth initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in foam products strongly preferred, particularly polyethylene (PE) foam, rubber foam, or related applications.
- Background in construction materials, sealants and accessories, insulation, specialty building materials, or adjacent product categories.
- Experience launching products, opening new channels, or leading market expansion initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and readiness for future advancement into a Sales Director position.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, develop talent, and manage cross-functional initiatives in preparation for broader commercial leadership responsibilities.
- Interest in and readiness for a defined succession opportunity into a Sales Director-level leadership role.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this full-time role is $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. The salary will vary depending on job-related skills, experience, and location. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
