Segment Leader - Huntsville

About the Role

The Segment Leader develops new business in the commercial market, enhances brand presence, and expands market share. They maintain long-term relationships, analyze industry trends, and executively lead projects from inception to completion. In conjunction with the practice leader, they optimize operations, monitor efficiency, and drive growth in the commercial practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic market plans in collaboration with the Practice Leader to enhance brand presence and market share.
• Partner with studio and office leadership to achieve strategic goals.
• Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify and pursue opportunities.
• Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, internal/external clients, and industry influencers.
• Serve as the primary client interface for the practice in the respective market, building and maintaining strong connections.
• Engage from initial marketing stages through construction completion.
• Evaluate studio efficiency and effectiveness in terms of staff, business, and financial operations in conjunction with the Project Delivery Leader and Project Manager(s).
• Monitor staffing, utilization, and growth across the studio in conjunction with the Project Delivery Leader and Project Manager(s).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or related field) and licensed to practice.
• At least ten years of combined internship and professional experience, including managing teams and projects.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within the commercial design sector.
• Expertise in design, project management, estimating needs and budgets, and delivering projects on time.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to motivate and guide teams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with Adobe software, and strong knowledge of building technology.
• Highly organized, quick to learn, attentive to detail, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Architecture.
• Leadership experience on projects that have won design awards.
• Experience presenting in public and/or private presentations, workshops, etc.
• Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project Analyzer.
• Experience with Bluebeam PDF Revu.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit software.
• Additional relevant certifications indicating expertise such as for construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.
