Seeking Experienced MERN Stack (React.js / MongoDB) Full-stack / Frontend Software Developers

Description

One Community is a 100%-volunteer global sustainability organization that develops the Highest Good Network App, an open-source team management software. The software is currently in use and the position offers an experienced candidate the opportunity to join a software team of approximately 100 developers.

Position Requirements

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (Especially in React.js)
• Minimum 1+ years experience in MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) stack developing
• Minimum 1+ years experience in version control system like GitHub
• Must be available for at least 3 months with at least 10 hours each week
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong creativity skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to debug and develop new functionality

Additional Beneficial Qualifications

• Experience executing full lifecycle software development and familiar with Agile development
• Design and implementation experience with low-latency, high availability and performance applications
• Experience with automated testing platforms and unit testing
• Experience in deployment and cloud-like technology such as Microsoft Azure
• Experience documenting and maintaining software functionality
• Experience in large open-source projects
• Large-scale team collaboration experience

About the project

The Highest Good Network (HGN) is a team management app built with React.js, Express.js, and MongoDB. The software is live and we're adding new functionality, debugging, etc. Here are the 2 main GitHub repositories:
