About the role

Warm, active family seeking a reliable and engaging part-time caregiver to assist during the late afternoon routine for two children: a high-energy, ASD Level 2, 5-year-old boy and a sweet 1.5-year-old girl.

Schedule

  • Ideally Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
  • Open to only 3 or 4 days per week
  • Start date: ASAP through September 18, 2026
  • Location: Los Angeles, CA 90064

Compensation

  • $25 – $32 per hour, depending on experience and credentials

Responsibilities

  • From 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM, engage the 5-year-old in fun and educational activities while his sister naps, including outdoor play (weather-permitting)
  • From 3:45 PM onwards, work with Mom to manage both children and assist with the early evening transition, including providing snack for the daughter, keeping the 5-year-old busy with structured play, and bathtime

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children with ASD, speech delays, sensory processing needs, or related developmental profiles
  • Experience as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), line therapist, or special education aide is highly preferred
  • A calm, patient demeanor combined with the playful energy needed to keep up with an active 5-year-old
  • Must be willing to provide a minimum of two professional childcare references and undergo a comprehensive background check (TrustLine registration / Live Scan fingerprinting preferred)
  • Clean driving record and valid license (optional but a plus, in case local driving/pickups are required)

Ideal candidate

This is an ideal role for an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology who wants hands-on experience implementing positive behavioral strategies, routine transitions, and sensory-friendly care.
