Security Tool Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer

Responsibilities

The Security Tool Engineer-Cloud Security Engineer supports the operation, maintenance, deployment, tuning, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity tools and cloud/on-premise security capabilities within the client environment. Operate, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot cybersecurity tools and cloud security capabilities. Support deployment, tuning, patching, monitoring, backup verification, and availability of security platforms. Assist with SIEM, EDR, DLP, IDS/IPS, firewall, WAF, PAM, cloud security, vulnerability management, and endpoint security integrations. Review audit logs, identify suspicious activity, and coordinate with SOC/IR teams as needed. Provide engineering support for monitoring, alerting, visibility improvements, and process optimization. Assist with data protection, endpoint controls, and security infrastructure tasks in hybrid environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Experience in cybersecurity engineering, cloud security, security tool administration, systems engineering, or security operations support.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts, logging, identity, endpoint protection, vulnerability tooling, and monitoring platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and document configuration changes.
• Knowledge of secure system hardening, patching, availability, monitoring, and operational procedures.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Successful drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Location/Work Arrangement

Schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday 40-hour week, 4/10’s, or 9/80’s and may require on call or overnight shifts depending on contract needs. This position may be fully onsite or hybrid/remote depending on the needs of the specific contract.

Starting compensation for this role typical salary ranges between $142,418 – $167,550 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
