Security Technician I-IV (Four levels dependent on expertise and experience)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Current valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.
• Self-motivated and willing to expand skills for further advancement.
• Ability to work at various heights and in all weather conditions.

Salary/Pay Grade

• Security Technician IV: $14.78/HP1 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience)
• Security Technician III: $16.55/HP2 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience)
• Security Technician II: $18.54/HP3 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience)
• Security Technician I: $22.43/HP4 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience)

Essential Functions

• Perform assigned tasks cheerfully and promptly.
• Work in harmony with others.
• Complete each task with proper written records as required by department guidelines.
• Provide prompt assistance to others for operation of personnel lift, bucket truck, repair or replacement of video management, intrusion alarm, and access control systems.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
• Comply with district policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Security Technician IV

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in the trade.
• Knowledge of current codes and ordinances concerning Security systems.

Security Technician III

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the trade.
• Working knowledge of IP and analog video management systems.
• Working knowledge of intrusion alarm systems.
• Working knowledge of access control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and written reference material.

Security Technician II

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in the trade.
• Complete working knowledge of intrusion alarm, access control and video management systems and codes involved with each system.
• Read, comprehend and edit specifications and prints for new construction.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
• Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Able to work alone.
• Able to keep information confidential.
