Responsibilities
- Installing and servicing physical security systems/platforms, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and other low-voltage systems.
- Learning and contributing to technical and project teams.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues.
- Working as a valued team member and individually to deliver quality results to our customers.
- Executing assigned projects and duties in a timely manner with quality results.
- Working with trades and subcontractors assigned to projects.
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years of experience with the installation and service of enterprise-level physical security systems and platforms (Access Controls, CCTV, Intrusion/Burglar, etc.).
- Ability to perform device installation, headend equipment setup, cabling, and network connections.
- Basic comprehension of mechanical systems, digital circuits, and electrical systems.
- Basic understanding and ability to read and interpret building floor plans and diagrams.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools and learn to use test equipment.
- Troubleshooting basic issues across various enterprise-level systems.
- Ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
Qualifications
- A two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or an applicable subject (desired).
- Proficiency with enterprise-level security systems—installation, programming, and troubleshooting (desired).
- Training/certifications associated with manufacturer’s security systems and networks (desired).
- OSHA 10/30 certification (desired).
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role requires working inside and outside in varying conditions, including heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, or arid environments. Duties include:
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle tools or controls.
- Reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, and talking or hearing.
- Utilizing personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
- Lifting equipment (overhead, waist level, or from the floor), bending, and near vision use for reading and computer tasks.
- Handling semi-frequent stressful conditions and working in outdoor weather conditions.
- Frequently moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally ascending/descending a ladder and operating a motor vehicle.
- Positioning self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours are Monday–Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
