About the role

Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale security and fire system projects, primarily tied to new construction and capital investments. Responsibilities include project creation, development and finalization of design documents, review of submittals and RFIs, creation and tracking of project schedules, and monitoring field progress to ensure project scope and schedule are maintained. Address unforeseen conditions, track expenditures, create purchase requisitions, and maintain budgets. Regularly interact with facility engineering, construction contractors, and vendors while reporting project status to finance and security management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design and installation of large-scale security/fire systems, generally associated with new construction and capital investment.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and determine daily activity priorities.
  • Determine, with Finance and Purchasing support, how capital investment projects go to market for vendor selection and execution method.
  • Coordinate project execution with customers and vendors.
  • Create, communicate, and manage project scopes of work.
  • Issue scope change orders when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regional construction partners, and suppliers.
  • Create security infrastructure policies or standards to improve protection and align with company objectives.
  • Perform physical security site surveys.
  • Report on project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities.
  • Provide feedback on project progress to team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present regular project status updates.
  • Coach and mentor others on standards, policies, procedures, and project milestones.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) perspective across business units including EHS, ME, Purchasing, HR, and Risk Management.
  • Apply understanding of the latest technology, best practices, industry standards, and project management strategies to optimize efficiencies and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in project engineering and project management in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of CCTV systems, intrusion detection systems, access control system software and hardware, and fire alarm systems.
  • Budgeting, cost estimating, and cost analysis experience.
  • Process optimization and improvement experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer network infrastructure, electrical and power requirements, and database applications.
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple complex construction or system installation assignments concurrently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current fire, electrical, and building codes including NFPA, NEC, IBC, and ADA.
  • Understanding of electrical and network infrastructure and installation practices.
  • Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in PSP, CAPM, PMP, or NFPA.
  • Avigilon User, Administrator, and Analytics Certifications.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise access control and CCTV systems.
  • CAD experience.
  • Automotive experience.
