Security Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Aid in maintaining IT and enterprise security applications and systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with Linux and Windows servers and enterprise applications.
• Implement, enhance, and support enterprise security applications across various environments.
• Address vulnerabilities on Linux and Windows systems, monitor, and apply patches to ensure system stability.
• Document engineering processes, procedures, and lessons learned.
• Manage and renew TLS certificates, respond to audits, and adhere to security hardening requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with and document ongoing projects and tasks.
• Report on daily operational activities during briefings.
• Handle incident management, ingest tickets, and manage work queues.
• Conduct quarterly access reviews and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in enterprise IT environments, focusing on change management.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
• At least 3 years of cybersecurity engineering experience, including understanding of enterprise security practices and compliance with PCI-DSS/NCUA standards.
• Experience with infrastructure management processes like change, problem, and configuration management.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, specifically Kanban workflows.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both Linux (Centos, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Cisco derivative OS) and Windows Server OS.
• Hands-on experience with patching and upgrading Linux and Windows OS and applications.
• Basic scripting skills in tools such as Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby for automation.
• Familiarity with SIEM technologies and enterprise network principles, including firewall, routing, switching, load balancing, and proxy troubleshooting.
