About the role
Security System Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including CCTV or IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the commissioning of new security systems on customer sites, documenting commissioning details
- Absorb and test existing security systems
- Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader
- Complete commissioning within planned timelines
- Submit accurate time and expense logs
- Work overtime when needed
Requirements
- Basic Qualifications:
- Electro-mechanical experience (either from a previous role or through education)
- User PC/software skill
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management
- Must be willing and able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
- Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
- 6+ months experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
- Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

Pay
The pay range for this position is $42,340 - $72,583 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
