Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all security matters.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings, assign posts, and communicate event details and expectations to security personnel.
  • Aid in coordinating the flow of information from the Security Manager to security staff.
  • Prepare and distribute work schedules; review event resumes to build appropriate staffing plans for upcoming events.
  • As well as post-shift reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain files of sign-in sheets for events and ensure all security logs are completed, including time, radio, and key logs and access records.
  • Assist with training new security staff on venue policies, procedures, and proper guest interaction.
  • Demonstrate basic computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office suite and other scheduling or communication tools.
  • Oversee all shipping and receiving items moving throughout the facility; log all items entering and leaving the building.
  • Cook with outside vendors to ensure proper load-in and load-out procedures are followed.
  • Support operations staff during event move-in, event operations, and load-out activities.
  • Monitor event activity areas as well as all entrances and exits.
  • Perform routine patrols of the facility; lock and unlock doors and access points as required.
  • Ensure proper access control procedures are followed for staff, vendors, performers, and guests.
  • Maintain accountability for radios, keys, and other security equipment.
  • Absorb and administer the facility's emergency preparedness programs.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns, and crowd management.
  • Be knowledgeable of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; follow established procedures in the case of fire, disorder, or other emergencies.
  • Assist emergency medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control, and securing needed equipment.
  • Observe the general public; provide general information, directions, and assistance to facility guests.
  • Report suspicious behavior to the Manager on Duty or Security Manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to all internal and external clients.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, and all parties encountered in the course of work.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security, public safety, or law enforcement preferred.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a security environment preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, vendors, and public safety personnel.
  • Basic computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts based on event schedules.
  • Ability to observe surroundings and maintain situational awareness in a busy public environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess, or have the ability to attain, a Utah Driver's license.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
