About the role
The Security Supervisor serves as the first-line leader for the Security Department and is responsible for protecting the resort, its guests, employees, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical inspections of all posts and patrols to ensure compliance with job requirements, communicate daily officer orders, and confirm resort entrances and restricted areas are properly secured.
- Provide on-the-job training and additional instruction to Security Officers as needed; perform Field Training Officer duties, including evaluating probationary officers’ performance.
- Act as first responder to guest and employee accidents or injuries; administer first aid, contact emergency services when necessary, complete First Reports of Injury, and assist with employee drug and alcohol testing when appropriate.
- Congduct preliminary investigations under the direction of the Security Manager and prepare, review, and submit written incident reports related to resort activity.
- Issue, receive, and account for security equipment, including radios, master keys, vehicles, flashlights, and other operational tools.
- Communicate new orders and directives during roll call and inspection briefings.
- Supervise and direct prompt Security Officer response to Code One and other emergency procedures; assist the Security Manager with emergency management when on duty.
- Recommend operational improvements through the supervisory chain to enhance productivity and cost effectiveness.

- Ability to produce clear, detailed written reports describing incidents and events.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively to guests and employees.
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to maintaining departmental and resort performance standards.
- Professional, mature demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Working knowledge of the criminal justice system and applicable state criminal codes.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma plus one year of college or equivalent experience.
- College or additional education may be waived at the discretion of the Director of Security and Human Resources based on qualifications or experience.
- Minimum of two years of resort or hotel experience, or three years of professional security experience requiring strong customer service skills.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms; may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
