Security Specialist.

Duties

• Prepare and maintain facility accreditation documentation, including Fixed Facility Checklists, TEMPEST addendums, facility modifications, and annual/quarterly accreditation updates.
• Interpret personnel security policies for complex cases involving derogatory information, reciprocity, access delays, foreign influence, or special access concerns.
• Maintain current security regulations, policies, forms, and local guidance on the Security SharePoint site or other approved repository.
• Serve as an authoritative advisor on classified handling, transmission, packaging, marking, safeguarding, and incident response for routine and non-routine security issues.

Requirements

• Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Drug testing: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• TDY travel: Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.

Specialized Experience

• Preparing accreditation packages (Concept Approvals, Fixed Facility Checklists, TEMPEST Addendums, facility modification documentation) for coordination with final SAC GSSO accreditations.
• Securing and maintaining access to personnel security databases, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance across security records.
• Compiling documentation for security contracts supporting facility refurbishment, establishment, and repair.

• This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.
• The SPeD certification is DoD's initiative to professionalize the security workforce by establishing a common set of competencies for security practitioners that promotes interoperability, facilitates professional development and training, and develops a workforce of certified security professionals.
• This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
