Security / Soc Analyst III

Exciting Security / SOC Analyst III, 6‑month contract opportunity in Houston, TX.

This is a 6‑month contract position based in Houston, TX.

Requirements

• 5 + years experience in the security domain, incident response, threat monitoring, and handling incidents (incident triage and response)
• Determine detection requirements for data sources being on‑boarded to the SIEM, and assess the value of existing SIEM detection cases to identify gaps and overlap in the overall detection scheme
• Perform security monitoring and incident response of cyber‑security events to properly determine whether they constitute a cybersecurity event
• Triage offenses for false positives
• Hands‑on experience defining detection or protection schemes based on industry standards and frameworks
• Experience with SIEM, Endpoint Detection and Response, firewall/IPS/IDS, proxy, data loss prevention, and authentication technologies
• Leverage data from security technologies and referential data sources to define security detection requirements, including detections that correlate data across multiple sources
• Ability to interpret code in support of detection case development
