Security Shift Supervisor - Hospital

Responsibilities

• Oversight of staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers
• Conduct shift roll-call and regular site visits; document officer knowledge and performance
• Address concerns as needed
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure uniform compliance
• Provide on-the-job training to new security officers
• Review and maintain training materials
• Handle and report on shift call-offs and emergencies
• Initiate investigations and gather information related to incidents
• Make recommendations for personnel actions
• Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations
• Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders
• Make recommendations concerning disciplinary action/commendation decisions
• Complete daily activity reports, vehicle maintenance reports, and supervisor pass downs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
• Possess one or more of the following: military service, military reserves, or National Guard service
• Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
• One year verifiable and successful security experience
• Associate's degree or higher in any discipline
• At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Operate radios, telephones, and security monitoring equipment
• Strong problem-solving, situational assessment, and decision-making skills
• Mediation conflict with tact and diplomacy
• Commitment to patient-centered service and trauma-informed care
