Responsibilities
- Oversight of staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers
- Conduct shift roll-call and regular site visits; document officer knowledge and performance
- Address concerns as needed
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure uniform compliance
- Provide on-the-job training to new security officers
- Review and maintain training materials
- Handle and report on shift call-offs and emergencies
- Initiate investigations and gather information related to incidents
- Make recommendations for personnel actions
- Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations
- Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders
- Make recommendations concerning disciplinary action/commendation decisions
- Complete daily activity reports, vehicle maintenance reports, and supervisor pass downs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
- Possess one or more of the following: military service, military reserves, or National Guard service
- Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
- One year verifiable and successful security experience
- Associate's degree or higher in any discipline
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Operate radios, telephones, and security monitoring equipment
- Strong problem-solving, situational assessment, and decision-making skills
- Mediation conflict with tact and diplomacy
- Commitment to patient-centered service and trauma-informed care
