Security Shift Supervisor

About the role

Two Part-time positions available, Saturday and Sunday from 06:45-14:45 or 14:45-22:45.

Responsibilities

• Staffing all posts, training, and counselling officers
• Monitoring cameras and conducting patrols (walking 3 miles doing rounds)
• Reporting all incidents to Account Manager
• Notifying proper authorities and client in emergency situations
• Coaching and disciplining personnel as appropriate
• Training Security Officers and other company personnel
• Assisting in the submission of payroll and personnel information
• Ensuring adequate coverage of all posts and positions
• Preparing, filing, and submitting various reports as required
• Inspecting posts as scheduled and meeting with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities
• Meting with client representatives as scheduled or as needed
• May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accord with post orders and company policy

Requirements

• More than 2 years of security experience, and/or previous law, corrections, or military experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail preferred

Skills

• Knowledge of security operations with an emphasis on patrol, inspection and response services
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
• Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance
• Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls
• Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
• Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments
• Ability to be an effective team member
• Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
• Courteous telephone manner
• Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures
• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
• Good organizational skills
• Strong customer service and results orientation
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, at various social levels and across diverse cultures
