Security - Security Officer (Part-Time)

About the role

The Security Officer position at Valley View Casino & Hotel is responsible for protecting guests, Team Members, and company property. This role requires adherence to strict policies and regulations, as well as the ability to operate company vehicles and manage cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive guest relations and resolve complaints.
• Greet guests courteously and provide personalized service.
• Generate and review security-related incident reports.
• Escort and observe guests and Team Members for safety.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards.
• Operate company vehicles and assist with money and token transport.
• Access and secure restricted areas.
• Verify guest and Team Member identification.
• Facilitate information flow through departmental meetings.
• Provide information about property and special events.
• Conduct all duties professionally and ethically.
• Adhere to performance standards, company policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid California Driver License with a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Guard Card within 90 days of hire.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and computer skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety rules, operating instructions, and policies.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts and follow established guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions based on common sense.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Flexible to work any shift, including nights and weekends.
• Exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke, moving parts, and fumes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in law enforcement or gaming security preferred.
• Physical requirements include clear vision, manual dexterity, and ability to hear and communicate clearly.
