Security Programmer
About the role
We’re looking for a Security Programmer in our Des Moines office. The Programmer will program and test systems within the scope of assigned projects, troubleshoot, maintain, and program Security Access Controls and IP Video Surveillance systems and components for customers. You’ll integrate third-party systems for a seamless user interface and interact with end users to ensure proper understanding of their physical security systems. Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, programming, and testing systems, servers, workstations, etc.
- Program and commission local systems software.
- Integrate software with 3rd party systems/equipment.
- Create Graphical User Interface (GUI).
- Participate in onsite walk-throughs and customer demonstrations.
- Conduct owner/end user training.
- Maintain future troubleshooting documentation.
- Conduct site commissioning.
- Respond to service calls including on-call rotations.
- Stay current on industry trends to ensure utilization of current products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Key Performance Indicators (KPI): Job completion timeliness, Effectiveness, Customer Satisfaction.
Requirements
- Associates degree, or relevant job experience.
- Certified in and/or experience with Milestone XProtect VMS.
- Certified in and/or experience with Software House CCure 9000.
- Understanding of Basic Electrical theory, wiring, and electrical operations.
- Basic knowledge of controls concepts and strategies for commercial building Security controls systems.
- Basic knowledge of IP Video Surveillance system concepts and strategies.
- Basic Knowledge of IP Networks, IP Addressing, and Networking components.
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Server & Client systems including Microsoft SQL Server.
- Ability to read Mechanical and Electrical blueprints.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel daily to client locations and work sites.
- Sedentary work: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional walking and/or standing on uneven and/or unimproved surfaces.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
