Security Police Officer

About the Role

Chenega is seeking a dedicated Security Police Officer (SPO) to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of NASA facilities, specifically the Marshall Space Flight Center. Responsibilities

• Act as the first responder to emergencies, enforce federal and state laws, and conduct mobile patrols, inspections, and searches.
• Guard NASA buildings and property, control access, and protect equipment and materials.
• Conduct traffic enforcement and investigations, and manage access control.
• Escort and interact with public and government personnel, and communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and in person.
• Be available for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and remain on call for emergency duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 1-3 years of military or law enforcement experience as a full-time employee of a civilian law enforcement agency, military police, or government or civilian security guard organization.
• NBTS required prior to standing an armed post. ICS-100 and ICS-200 required within 120 days of appointment. ERO Certification required.
• Strong communication and report writing skills. Proficient with computers and standard word processing programs.
• Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid state driver's license, and have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture.
• Must successfully complete all training and obtain all required licenses, certifications, and security/medical clearances for the site.
• Must meet and maintain NASA Physical Certifications and complete psychological examinations.
• Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
• There will also be a Physical Agility Test (PAT) as a part of the onboarding process.
