Security Patrol Officer - Variable Schedule
About the Role
Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County (UGM-TC) is a united Christian organization and ministry dedicated to providing love, hope, respect, and a new beginning for homeless women, men, and families. This role is responsible for patrolling and securing assigned premises, identifying and mitigating risks to staff and patrons. The position requires flexibility in schedule, including overnights, weekends, evening hours, and holidays based on the organization's changing needs.
Responsibilities
- Patrol buildings and grounds to maintain campus security and follow lock protocols.
- Provide individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.
- Identify and remove unauthorized individuals from property.
- Enforce campus parking policies and cite violations.
- Execute Courtesy Patrol policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide campus directions to facility visitors.
- Interact with police, fire personnel, EMS, patients, visitors, and staff.
- Complete incident/offense reports by performing investigations, recording observations, taking statements, gathering information, citing occurrences, and utilizing surveillance activities.
- Greet all people with respect and make eye contact.
- Respond to calls for service and emergency situations with urgency and professionalism, assessing situations and utilizing appropriate de-escalation measures.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and activate appropriate emergency response codes.
- Support activities and events using appropriate crowd control techniques.
- Perform routine checks and ensure code compliance for the 10-acre campus and The Vineyards of Lancaster, including registering visitors and ensuring registered vehicles.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
- Familiarity with security equipment.
- Ability to handle physical workload, including walking and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Problem Sensitivity: Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
- Deductive Reasoning: Apply general rules to specific problems.
- Flexibility of Closure: Identify known patterns hidden in distracting material.
- Inductive Reasoning: Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
- Clean driving record.
- Level 2 License preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
