About The Role
The Security Operations Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and execution of physical security operations within a manufacturing environment. This role supports access control, badging, visitor management, and general security compliance to help protect company employees, assets, and facilities. The ideal candidate has prior experience in security operations or badge access control administration and can operate independently with minimal supervision. This position works closely with Human Resources, Operations, and site leadership to ensure timely and accurate management of employee and contractor access while maintaining compliance with company policies. This role is an operational support position within the Physical Security function and focuses on execution of security processes rather than investigations or security risk assessments. The position may support a single facility or multiple sites depending on operational needs and facility size. Travel: 20% onsite.
Responsibilities
- Access Control & Badge Administration
- Issue, manage, and track employee, contractor, and visitor access badges
- Maintain access control systems, including adding, modifying, and removing access permissions
- Ensure timely deactivation of access for terminated employees and inactive contractors
- Perform routine access audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Visitor & Contractor Management
- Administer visitor check-in processes and badge issuance
- Ensure visitors and contractors comply with company security and safety requirements
- Maintain accurate visitor logs and access records
- Coordinate with site personnel to ensure proper authorization and escort requirements
- Security Operations Support
- Monitor and respond to basic security system alerts (access control, alarms)
- Support the maintenance and accuracy of access control and security system data
- Assist with periodic testing of access control and related systems
- Support implementation of security procedures and operational improvements
- Parking & Facility Access Compliance
- Administer employee parking permit programs and maintain vehicle records
- Enforce parking policies and address violations as needed
- Support enforcement of facility access control policies and restricted area requirements
- Audit & Compliance Support
- Conduct routine administrative audits (badge activity, inactive access, visitor records)
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to security leadership as appropriate
- Support internal reviews related to access control and security processes
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records related to badging, access control, and visitor management
- Provide reporting on access activity, audit results, and compliance trends
- Document issues and support corrective action tracking
- Additional Responsibilities
- Support emergency response procedures as needed
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes related to facility access
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in security operations, access control administration, facilities coordination, or a related field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience managing access control systems and badge administration processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume administrative tasks accurately
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and basic troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment
- Experience with access control platforms (e.g., Brivo, HID, Lenel, Genetec, or similar systems)
- Familiarity with visitor management systems
- Basic understanding of security compliance, audit processes, or internal controls
- Basic understanding of building alarm system management
- Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field
- Security Commissioned or Non-Commissioned license
- Relevant training or certifications such as:
- Physical Security Professional (PSP) or similar certification (preferred, not required)
- OSHA 10 (or similar safety training)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.)
- Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside.
Work Environment
- May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings
- Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods
