Security Operations Center (NSOC) Analyst

About the role

The Tier I Security Operations Center (NSOC) Analyst will serve as a core member of an operational security team, supporting continuous monitoring and response for mission-essential communication sites and information systems. This role is responsible for alert triage, event classification, documentation, escalation, and supporting incident response activities within a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Support a 24/7 operational schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Perform proactive, on-site monitoring and response for mission-essential communication sites and information systems.
• Classify, prioritize, and escalate alerts promptly to support timely resolution.
• Follow established procedures for data collection, triage, analysis, classification, and escalation while meeting performance targets.
• Capture, log, respond to, and escalate events received through email, chat, voice, and other systems with accurate documentation.
• Collect and analyze technical data to classify events, distinguish valid issues from false positives, and maintain triage accuracy standards.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and refine playbooks, dashboards, metrics, and detection strategies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of incidents and recommended response actions.
• Provide support during network and security incidents, assisting with resolution efforts as directed.
